Actually I'm disappointed in my Euroreef cs8-2. The splashing noise in the sump is annoying IMO. I trying plumbing the output so it discharges into the water but predictably the skimmer level dropped. :?
Heh, I have just 2 hobbies. Reef aquariums and working out. If you wanna get in shape, check out http://www.cbass.com
Oh, I like fast cars too and am waiting for the next vette due out in 727 days!
I'd go with a DIY ca reactor or one by myreef creations. I use a SEN 900 for my 180's sump. Works fine, but use what you want. Oh, and I don't use a heater at all. Temp fluctuates from 78-81. Fish are fine. Definitely get a 3rd light. 20K 400's rock especially for coloring up SPS IME. GL
I wouldn't do anything to the live rock except scrub it and rinse in saltwater. Trash the sand. Start with new tropical playsand. It's cheap. Seed it with some live sand if you've no amphipods/fauna in your algae farm currently. However, where there's algae, there's usually lots of pods.

I think that hellolights.com charging me 70 bucks for a replacement 20K bulb after me hardly using it was a ripoff. To be honest, I wish I'd gone with marine depot over hellolights for my halides. They at least are reasonable. Oh well. Lesson learned.
:?
I bought three 20K radiums at hellolights, ran them with glass shields for a month, and one exploded this weekend. My 2 remaining bulbs are pristine. They gave me 16 bucks credit for the bulb.
They were pleasant enuf about refusing to anything more about it tho.
Would slime algae remover kill it?
