I have the single chamber design, I run carbon packed snug over GFO separated with the sponge they provide. Adding a maxijet 900 from them and made it a complete kit. I like the easy serviceability and the bulk carbon and GFO purchased from them makes me real happy about this purchase.

If your serious, they would absorb the light... not reflect it. Plus your solar panel would have to be pretty large to run a single power head. Basically any light or energy your taking from your lights is not going into the tank as intended.
