    RO/DI will only remove silicates for a short period. I am running an imported German silicic acid resin. Specifically designed for removing silicate loving diatoms etc. I am testing the product as we speak.

    Does it matter if you only add Bicarb? What is the purpose for the carbonate? Interested... Cheers Craig

    Standard DI mixed bed rfesin will only pull silicates for a short period. Silicate resin is what is required to remove siliocates long term. I wasnt aware Cyano required silicates either.

    Cyano...very difficultly. I am trying to rid some at the moment. The bloody stuff grows without nutrients it seems. :?

    streams are movable and look ok. Loops are fixed, and if in the wrong place may prove annoying. Streams are great!

    Yes, I am doing 30% water changes once every 5-6 weeks. (I'm running 365 Gallons) I am dosing Sodium Bicarbonate, (Food grade). So what happens in an aquarium if chlorides build up? Any Ideas? Thanks again craig

    I've seen them just as they have finished molting. They seem really tender for a awhile and have a bit of a fit! Amazing stuff. :)
