This may seem like a dumb Q but: Does it matter what side of a double-ended MH faces up or down? In other words...does the glass nub that sticks out on the bulb face the tank surface (down) or face up? Thanks

I had it for years, it's huge, and my Perc Clown pair is hosting it between its layers. It recently started bleaching not too long after my clowns began laying eggs on it. Could they be the cause or is it more likely due to a dip in Ph I corrected. Everything else is fine...all parameters...

So what do you feed your corals?

Just curious to see what some of you do, if anything? Do you wait for the lights to be off completely w/ just moon lights on? And if so, how long do you wait after the lights are out? Or do you feed during dusk with only actinics on? And of course, what do you feed your night critters? Thanks

I've had both and personally, I think the 6-line will eat too much. I recently had one die of old age after 6 years and it was the biggest pig of a reef fish I've ever had. It was always the first one up in the morning and last one to bed. All it ever did was graze my live rock for critters...

Powder Blue. I happen to love Blonde Naso's if you can find one, but Naso's have some nasty spikes on their tail. So I say play it safe with the Powder Blue.

Thanks. My Fire shrimp is small right now so maybe it could work. I've just heard about how aggressive coral banded shrimp could be so I'm thinking if I get the Blue which stays very small, maybe it could work. Thanks

Anyone have experience with this coral and tissue degeneration? I used to have one and got rid of it, it was too aggressive. However, I recently saved one from a friend to try and recoup it. Anyone know how to save it? Should I cut the bare skeleton away from the rest? It's not possible...

I'm thinking about putting it in a 40g breeder that has some fairly high Cal. demands w/ no Cal. reactor. I have a plating orange cap monti that's growing like crazy. Maybe it's not such a good idea and I should stick with more basic caulerpa.
