  3. rock before or after sand?

You're doing the right thing---asking questions, I have learned so much from this BBS... Two points I didn't read above: 1. Most things that live in the sand, burrow by nature. (So you shouldn't hurt them, normally) 2. Use of PVC is dependent on the size of your tank. (Would look a little...
  4. Stop the hypocrisy

Let's all go buy a 1000 gallon tank and stock it with huge fish and sit back and.... oh yeah, that money thing again, sorry.... JJ
  5. Loads of stupid questions here...

Most saltwater mixes contain "trace elements" which include iodine. It's true that iodine is next to impossible to test for. Just keep up on the water changes and you should be fine. JJ
  6. air pockets in sand bed

Don't worry about the bubbles, Yes they are part of the denitrification process and this means that it is starting to work! The Nitrogen bubbles are the end product from the anaerobic bacteria breaking down the nitrates in the tank. JJ

  9. how to feed carpet anenome?

    1. Is your Anenome looking drab, losing color, or reacting badly in some way? 2. What lighting do you have on what size tank? Anenomes get most of their food from light, in fact I haven't fed anything more than a little brine from time to time. 3. Be VERY CAREFUL you don't overfeed your tank...
  10. ID for anemone and for corals?

I would also like to know the sp. of your anenome, mine looks very similar but is about the size of a dinner plate when he stretches the tentacles out. More peculiar is that I caught him with his perverbial "hand in the cookie jar" when I came home from work today: amazing enough, he had...

  13. Sun cor. question

Mine open late in the evening and stay open all night and I feed brine with a turkey baster. Try using a turkey baster with just a little food and wait about 15-20 minutes and see if they come out, target feeding is the way to go with these. jj
