  1. Full blown SPS tank no GFO

Not at all a waste of money.
  2. Reef Nutrition ROE

I love this food. It's almost neutrally buoyant so it says in the water column unlike a lot of other foods like cyclops that sink in areas of low flow. It's from codfish too, so it's very high in fatty and amino acids compared to a lot of other foods. Because of this, it's also amazing for...
  3. Full blown SPS tank no GFO

Most people doing any type of carbon dosing (vodka, bio pellets, NO3:PO4X, etc) don't use any type of GFO. GFO is great, but needs to be used properly.
  4. Crazy looking crab!

Hey everyone, Has anyone ever seen a crab like this in their tank? I feel like I've seen it in a book somewhere, but certainly not in a reef tank. She has tiny, tiny eyes and small claws. She's ask full of eggs. The top of her shell almost looks like an ear. Any ideas? -Christian
  5. Local (Manhattan) fish store?

Thanks for the plug, Chris. The cyano and dyno issues have been resolved. :fish: -Christian
  6. ID please

It's a peanut worm! A good part of your cleanup crew. They call them peanut worms because there is a body about the size and shape of a peanut that is in the rock it lives in. They don't tend to move around too much from hole to hole.
  7. fish ID

Yup. It is a type of bream. Called a purple scolopsis or a banana spincheeks. A very cool fish, indeed!
  8. WTB: Large protein skimmer

Bump, please! Thanks for those that have been of help!
  9. WTB: Large protein skimmer

Nope. The collection sites are right at the mouth of the river and the salinity fluctuates with the tide and has a median around 1.018. The tank is kept between 1.018-1.020 Thanks though Russ.
  10. WTB: Large protein skimmer

Hey everyone. I'm helping out with a tidal tank at an environmental and youth development organization called Rocking the Boat in the South Bronx. The tank has seen better days and I'm trying to give them a hand to get it back on track. It's a 150 gallon tank with a large sump and an 80 gallon...
  11. FS: 36" MH/t5 and 20" sump

I'm located in Norwalk but am moving to Brooklyn next week so I have some things I have to unload. I was going to set up another tank but will not have the space where I am moving. I have a current orbit pro 36" 2X250 watt MH and 4X39 watt t5. There MH bulbs are phoenix that were used for...
  12. WTB: large blue clam and birdsnest colony

Hey everyone! Looking for a larger (5"s or so?) maxima or crocea clam and a birdsnest mini-colony, preferably something different like a yellow tips, but a normal pink or hyacinth would be great too! I'm in Norwalk, CT. Thanks! Christian
  13. clam lost its foot....HELP

Is it the actual foot or just the byssas threads?
  14. Mitch's 17.4g Reef

    Love the scape!
  15. dosing Iron & Strontium for SPS Coloration

Certain elements will help coloration, but that color wont show if there is so much zooxanthellae that they look brown. Your phosphates are pretty darn high. What test kit are you using? Are you running any type of media?
