  1. Skinny Lawnmower...

Does he look like this? I feed Seaweed selects every day. I soak it in a Zoe and Selco mixture I make my self at least twice per week. Keep on it and hopefully it will eat. Take a half sheet of Seaweed selects or Nori and roll it up. Rubberband it to a rock and tie a piece of fishing line...
  2. Article on the degradation of limewater

I have very high Co2 levels in my tap water that comes from a local spring. 50 ppm. I run a R/O unit to a 100 gallon resovour and run two bubble wands in it to get rid of the Co2 down to less than 1 ppm measured by a Lammotte test kit. I then pump the water from that tub with a Liter meter...
  3. Everyone's tool/accessory/hardware wish list?

Ok, I have a couple. I have a large tank that is also deep. 1. A rigid long acrylic scraper with an adjustable angle about mid way that may even telescope for different jobs. It must be very rigid so you can apply some pressure at the long setting. Maybe a buffing attachment to secure some...
  4. Water tested my 300g last night--Pic intense

    Looking very good!!!
  5. First Test fire of my light system 4-400w 14k Hamiltons

Steve, I really like your light bar. Perfect solution to your head room problem. Lights look great. Similar to my radiums. Do they make those hinges in stainless steel? It is amazing the amount of salt that gets into the air in a room like that. You will have salt creep and residue on all...
  6. Ampmaster seals

I have changed three seals and working on two more on my 5 ampmaster 3000 pumps. All are leaking. I think, after looking at three of my seals that I know why mine are leaking. Not because of faulty workmanship, or abrasives but a buildup of calcium on the spring that holds the seal under...
  7. What's your favorite fish???

Very hard to choose. Some look very good but lack in personality and others look discusting and have great and interesting personalities. For instance my Koran is very beautiful in person but is a big bully to some of the tangs and is a pig when it comes to dinner time. My Lawnmower has a...
  8. Dosing Kalk using a Litermeter

I think it should be fine. Your pH will rise but I doubt that much because you would only be dosing 1.5 gallons over a 24 hour period rather than just over night. Your other option is to just dose your 1.5 gallons over night and put your litermeter on a timer. Your 220 volume with only 1.5...
  9. Who is the oldest here?

I am 34 in 13 days but looking much older because I am a proud member of the bald reefers club. :D
  10. Is this acro. growing ok.

    Show off!!! :)
  11. The madness begins

One thing that I have not seen is the view from the slanted end. Give us a shot from the stairs looking in the tank from the slanted end, like you were looking at some clams. Thanks! Jeff
  12. Chillers Coil vs. Flow-through

I used a 1/5th hp Cyclone chiller for several years on my 75 gallon tank. Perfect size and it is very reliable. Easy to charge if needed by any small appliance guy. Mine is about 6 or 7 years old. Its sitting in my attic collecting dust. Not much good on my 800 gallon system. :D I liked...
  13. angel suggestions? if any...

How big is your tank and what type of corals do you want to eventually keep? What is in there now including the fish you have? Jeff
  14. The problem with patience...

Having my tank has been very educational for my daughter. Her first word was FISH pronounced SISH. Very cool! :D
  15. For in-wall set-ups with fish room behind

By reading the description, I am not sure how you would wire it to turn on a fan when the humidity got high. It looks like it is designed to turn on something when the humidity gets low and shuts off when the humidity is higher than your desidred setting. I am sure there is a way to wire it...
