  1. Tang Tank Question

This is just my opinion but... A 46 is really too small for a tang. You could probably get away with a smaller species of tang but anytime you can use the phrase "get away with" in reeftanks it usually ends badly. A Sohal is likely too big for a 100 gallon at 4" and will surely outgrow the...
  2. Can Briopsys be deadly

Bryopsis, as painful as it is to see, can only smother your corals. If it overgrows them, it can kill. Otherwise it is pretty harmless. Jim
  3. Is anyone using a Macintosh with their aquacontroller?

I'm looking for information on what software and how to hook my Macintosh to my aquacontroller. I can't seem to get jaqua to even load on my computer and Bill E tried to help but isn't Mac saavy. Any information is appreciated. Thanks, Jim

  7. True Perc Markings

If you like a darker colored clown, look into the saddlebacks. They are relatively dark, and take to carpets well. Jim

  10. Refreshing video of my 55 gallon.

I saw a shrimp, a blue damsel, a flame angel up close and what looked like the reflection of a scopas tang? I didn't have the patience to what another 13 seconds for a shot. Nice feature though. Jim
  11. Coloured Acropora's

Wait it out. Most corals that I put in my tank become a deep brown before turning into their ture colors. Jim
  12. Corner or center overflows

No, not really having that problem. I also plan on plumbing my skimmer into the overflow box, so if that problem develops I'll have it licked. Jim
  13. Corner or center overflows

Still here.. The pipes in the middle are the durso standpipes leading to the red ball valves empyting into the sump. The other plumbing you see are 4 separate closed loops plumbed to fit my tunze submersible pumps. Having this overflow allowed me to get my tunzes out of the tank and preserve...
  14. Corner or center overflows

Mouse, Will there be room behind your tank? If so, I recommned going with back center overflows, built off the back of your tank. I did this through a custom tank builder and it really frees up quite a bit of room in the tank. I was able to make the overflow as large as I wanted without...
  15. SEcret to good skimming??

MOTP, No, the rio is not too large. For the berlin, the more flow through it, the better it works. The problem with the Berlin is salt creep in the venturi leads to incosistent skimming. A lot of people add the Kent venturi and say this makes the skimmer. Jim
