It's really not that hard. And it doesn't cost that much. I have $75 into this 18x22x40 stand. (Odd dimensions because it's for a nanocube) If you know the measurements. HD & Lowes offers free cuts. Then you just assemble it yourself like ikea. Doing it again, I would go with 1x3 or 2x2, not...

I read a article a while back, Reef Octopus believes the varios line (with routine maintenance) should last 10 years. You also have the added benefit of it being DC, which helps on the electric bill.

Everything that you've listed will transfer over and work exactly the same on the new tank. No real need to upgrade anything right away. Eventually you might want a 3rd light in the future depending on what you keep. Also you might outgrow your skimmer. But that's 2-3 years away
