  1. Chemistry for Zoas

Okay, so I've recently converted my IM Nuvo 16 nano reef to a Zoanthid tank. I'm working on growing out all of my zoas and I'm wondering what trace elements I should be dosing to maintain optimal growth of the zoas. So far, I have been dosing Iodine because almost everywhere I've read has said...
  2. Blue Hornets?

I can see why you would say the AOI, I can agree with you on that. Might be, but the yellow ring just seems too thin to be steel zoas. I think AOI seems more accurate than hornets though, thanks.
  3. Best nano out there ????

I'm going to have to say the Innovative Marine NUVO 10. They just redesigned the tank, too. I've maintained one, and it's done well. My one complaint would have to be the flow in the tank is rather low. Lighting is good for softies and some hardier LPS. Overall, not a bad tank for the price.
  4. Intro clown fish

I would strongly advise against this. I've seen tanks that are 500 gallons and 8 feet long where two pairs are introduced, and both have their own anemones on opposite sides of the tank, and still theyre constantly at it! Especially if you already have an established pair in the tank, I would...
  5. Blue Hornets?

Does anyone have an identification on them, though? I don't care so much about price, I'm not planning on selling them anytime soon, but I'm just curious if they're a kind of hornet or not.
  6. Blue Hornets?

 Are they maybe purple hornets? Someone please just tell me theyre a type of hornet!
  7. Zoa ID please

Middle looks like black goblins on fire. I'm going to have to agree with arcmetal110 on the bloody marry but the one on the right sort of looks like the gatorade, but I cant promise that one.
  8. Teen reefers unite. Show off your tank

Sweet tank! I wish I had the space to upgrade. I'm currently sporting an innovative marine nuvo 16. No fancy filtration or anything, just the stock filtration and lights with an Aqua Gadget SkimMate. I'm 18 and Ive been doing tanks since I was 5, but just got into reef tanks in August. Best...
  9. Blue Hornets?

So today I stopped by my LFS and saw what I believed to be a colony of about 50 BLUE HORETS They had the rock marked at $150, and I couldn't resist! I know that on some websites they go for as much as $70 a polyp. They didn't know what kind they were for sure so I took advantage of this and...
  10. Help my tank!

I'm almost positive it's not the lighting. These pieces have been in place for months under this lighting and have been growing well up until this point. They're Innovative Marine 14K Skkye Lights.
  11. Help my tank!

Hello everyone, About a week and a half ago I noticed that one of my hammer corals was shriveled up. It looked as if the coral had released all the fluids within its flesh. The hammer then started to recede and I fear it is now clinging to life. About 4 days after this started to happen, my...
  12. What should I try to do in my tank?

I was also looking to add some banggai cardinals to my tank. Currently, I have a white tailed pygmy angel thats barely over an inch long. How many do you think I could add? Again, let me just repeat that I do have a skimmer and I do weekly water changes of 5 gallons. How many do you think I can...
  13. What should I try to do in my tank?

I have 2 types of encrusting montis, one is a rainbow, I'm not sure what kind the other is. And then I have 2 capricornis frags as well. All are growing well with good coloration.
  14. What should I try to do in my tank?

Hey everyone! For about 6 months now, I have had an Innovative Marine Nuvo 16 set up. I've successfully been keeping Euphyllia, Goniastrea, Favia, leather corals, Zoas, and even a couple of montis. All smaller pieces of course. I do weekly water changes of about 5 gallons. I have a skimmer on...
