  1. CUCS SUCK

That sucks! I had the same thing happen to me several months ago...I had 2 pink cukes and one apparently got sucked into a powerhead. It killed all of my fish, but my inverts and corals were not affected at all. Lost a puple tang that I had for quite some time. Got rid of the other cuke and...
  2. Cheapest 250 or 400 watt metal halide pendant?

I'm not sure if Hamilton Technology www.hamiltontechnology.com is the cheapest, but they do have exceptional customer service IMO. Yesterday they replaced my VHO balast under warranty eventhough the warranty just ran out. And they did it while I waited. Nice people!
  3. Nikon Coolpix 995 Digital Camera

Alex - Cool pix! Did you get the mantis on purpose or as a hitchhiker? As far as the camera, you seem very pleased with it. Is it easy to use? How's the battery life? I'm also looking at the Sony MVC-FD95. There are so many digitals out there that it's hard to decide on one! Thanks for your...
  4. Nikon Coolpix 995 Digital Camera

Anyone have the Nikon Coolpix 995? I currently have a Sony Mavica FD83 and don't like the close-up pix that it takes. I want to be able to take high quality close ups of my corals. Any suggestions or recommendations for digital cameras would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Golden crown leather ????

What exactly are your dKH and magnesium readings??? I had the same problem with mine until I raised my alkalinity and mag.
  6. What did you get this Weekend?

repstein - I got one too! Where did you yours? I picked mine up at Dave & Buster's...what a deal! I swear I'll never drink again. Or at least not for a few days anyway!
  7. Pics of a Clitawrasse

It's hard to find a reef compatible one!
  8. Has anyone receieved great LR recently? Ordering soon.

Jeff's Exotics http://www.exoticfish.com/ would be worth the drive for you. They have some quality rock, coral, fish, and dry goods at great prices. Most of his employees are pretty knowledgeable too. I'm headed there tomorrow. Good pickins' on Tuesdays...they're closed on Sunday and Monday to...
  9. Sudden loss of fish...HELP!

cstar - I drip kalk with a timer and my pH is pretty stable. I really don't think that was it. Electrocution seems more likely. I just need to figure out how and what did it. Thanks for the info!!! Matt
  10. Fan Guards - Use them!!!!

Wow- sounds like that hurt. If that happened to out here, you wouldn't be able to drive...you need both of your middle fingers!!!
  11. Sudden loss of fish...HELP!

Thanks for all of the replies... Dave Lin - Eventhough I want to believe it was the cucumber, I'm not too sure either. It seems to me that the shrimp would have died and the corals would have been affected somewhat from toxins. The fish looked fine when I took them out - no signs of stress...
  12. Sudden loss of fish...HELP!

Fishaholic - Maybe the cucumber was it...but what would make it do that? It's been in there for quite some time with no problems. I almost hope that it's the reason for my loss - just so I know what the hell happened. But the problem is getting the damned thing out. Like I said in the original...
  13. Sudden loss of fish...HELP!

All of my fish died early this morning (or late last night). I found my purple tang, three blennies, and my eibli angel dead at about 7am. The bizarre thing is that ALL of my corals, hermits, and cleaner shrimp look GREAT. I have a 125 gal reef with a 4 inch deep sand bed, 200 lbs (+/-) of...
  14. Do you store SW agitated or not?

I let mine mix for at least a day with the powerhead running non-stop. Not sure if it makes a huge difference, but it can't hurt! Are you using RO/DI???
