  1. Tank and stand vendors in Manhattan

    I've gotten approval to set up a large reef system in my office. I was originally planning on going with Oceanic's Tech 120g tank and stand, but they appear to have been discontinued. Does anyone have a recommendation for either a comparable system (low-iron glass, roughly 5'x2'x2'...
  2. 3-pin -> 2-pin 12v adapters in town

    I know, that's why I'm looking for either the adapters or the simple 2-pin connectors, in which case I'll just clip and cap the rpm wire :) I'm hoping someone knows of a place in town where I can swing through and pick one up. I'd rather not deal with paying delivery charges and waiting for so...
  3. 3-pin -> 2-pin 12v adapters in town

    I'm replacing the fans in my NanoCube DX12 canopy and forgot to order the 3-pin->2-pin adapters required to connect up the currently-being-sold fans. Do any of you know of a place in town that sells either the adapters or the 2-pin connectors (which I can attach to the fan wires myself)?
  4. Tank drillers in Manhattan

    From what I can tell both locations are outside of the 5-boroughs, which is farther away than my fallback choice (Aquatic Express :)
  5. Tank drillers in Manhattan

    I need to have a 29G all-glass aquarium drilled sometime this week. Can anyone recommend a shop in the city, preferably one that's a short cab ride from 8th and 16th?
  6. VorTech Wave Harmonics (video)

    This is the coolest thing I've seen all day. One of the related features shows a similar effect with less height to the standing wave: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSCx9yE6qJs This looks like wave action constantly scouring the rock surfaces, and seems like it would be much better than...
  7. Acrylic in the city

    Awesome, thanks!
  8. Acrylic in the city

    It's time to build a sump - Is there a cash-and-carry source for acrylic in the city? Something on one of the major subway lines is a huge plus, as is any place that will cut to size.
  9. Custom stands

    This is very much the style I'm looking for, but I'm constrained by having absolutely zero workspace - I could possibly do the joining, but there's no way I'm going to run a circular saw in my bedroom. I'm still interested to know if anyone has heard of people using tubular aluminum frames.
  10. Custom stands

    I'm starting out setting up a 29G system in my office, and I'm looking for info on custom stands. I've got detailed measurements, but I'm not sure what would be cheapest and most practical: All-wood: This is obviously the most common choice, but that's because people can work with wood on...
  11. Just discovered Worm

    As others have said, it's a nudibranch. One warning - Be very, very careful handling it. Wear gloves, and wash whatever tools you use. Zoas are extremely toxic, and those growths on the nudi's back are full of undischarged stinging cells from whatever it eats. If you accidentally smoosh it...
  12. Spring Frag Swap 2007! - Sun. April 15th - RSVP Here!

    I'll be there - This will be my first, and I'm looking forward to it.
