  1. NEED HELP SKIMMER!!!

Red Sea Berlin Turbo has worked ok for me...have it in the sump of a 95 gal tank. http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem. ... uct=RSBHOK
  2. ICK in tank

I agree. Kick-Ich seemed to work OK. My regal tank got ich and then another fish got it also (a gramma). I removed the regal, since it is so prone to ich. But after treating with kick-ich, the main tank has done well...the other fish did not get any.
  3. Help with Bubble Tip Anemone! It moved to sand..is it ok?

ah..did that pot work? Mine has now moved to the underside of a rock face..i'm worried about it. it must be looking for a place to stick its foot. I thought i had given it a nice notch to hide in..but i guess it didn't like it. maybe i should try a pot like that? did you eventually move the pot?
  4. Trigger eats "ornamental shrimp"!??!?

What kind of trigger though? A couple of LFS guys are telling me that the blue throat is a rarity among triggers...ie: it is ok in a reef and in a community tank. Other triggers, such as the niger trigger and queen trigger..different story. I'm hoping they were right about the blue throat...
  5. Trigger eats "ornamental shrimp"!??!?

hmm..uh oh. I didn't know cleaners were in danger...ie: ornamental. Thanks for the info. I guess that means that if something happens to one of the shrimp..I can not add any replacement? If so, I have an issue with my LFS...the had told me that the blue throat trigger was non-agressive and...
  6. Trigger eats "ornamental shrimp"!??!?

I added a Blue Throat Trigger. About 6-inches. Nice looking fish, but research says that they "will eat ornamental shrimp". Which types are these? It loves my 2 cleaner shrimp..gets cleaned all the time. Hasn't tried to eat them yet.
  7. Help with Bubble Tip Anemone! It moved to sand..is it ok?

I got the coralife aqualight pro (2x150W halides). Great light in my opinion...but not cheap. The anemone still hasn't moved..must like the spot now. It inflates/deflates regularly. I know it is not wise to mix different species of anemone. But, can different types/colors of bubble tips...
  8. Help with Bubble Tip Anemone! It moved to sand..is it ok?

Thanks. I am keeping a close eye. For the last couple of days, it seems to have taken a liking to its position. I nudged it close to a cozy looking notch in one of the big rocks. It put its foot in there...and keeps the tentacles out in the light....inflating/deflating a couple of times per...
  9. Help with Bubble Tip Anemone! It moved to sand..is it ok?

Thank you for the information. As a result of all of this, I guess I'll offer my 260 Watt Coralife Lunar Aqualight to anyone who may want it... Here's the listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 7741164330
  10. My Setup

nice. what kind of lighting do you use? power compact? metal halide? how many watts?
  11. Help with Bubble Tip Anemone! It moved to sand..is it ok?

OK, thank you. I believe you are probably correct.
  12. Help with Bubble Tip Anemone! It moved to sand..is it ok?

oh no...really (on the lighting)? I went with what my LFS suggested...and spent $300+ on that lighting...still not enough? (Did you follow the link and check on the lighting) i have the version that is : 48" Coralife Lunar Aqualight (260W Total). That gives me approx 3 watts per gallon...
  13. Funny Clownfish Behavior

Whew! My clown does the same thing. Guess I won't worry. Every other fish has a hiding place/sleeping place (Gramma, Dwarf Angel, Damsel, Goby) but not Nemo! He just swims near the top of the tank..sometimes in a vertical position. Doesn't seem interested in the bubble-tip anemone I added a...
  14. The dreaded seaclone skimmer

I gave up after a few days of trying with the seaclone. Too many bubbles. I was not able to get rid of them, so I went with a Berlin. Works much better....more than twice the price though.
  15. Help with Bubble Tip Anemone! It moved to sand..is it ok?

Hi..I am pretty new to reefkeeping and brand new to Reefs.org....but... Finally tried to add an anemone to my 95GAL tank. It has 100lbs live rock and 100lbs live sand. The water parameters seem to be ok, including calcium at 450ppm. No amonia or nitrite. PH is 8.2. I think the water flow...
