  1. Common yet Colorful

Here are some pics of my fish. I used a Canon 350D with a 70-200 f/4.0 IS with extension tube. Manual focus with 580 EX flash on most.
  2. Clownfish Spawning in High Def

Hello, here's a spawning video of my ocellaris clown pair. http://www.vimeo.com/766197
  3. proper clowns for RBTA

My ocellaris clown pair seem happy with their BTA, and they venture only infrequently into the neighboring Rose BTA.
  4. Few Clownfish Eggs Pics

Here are some pics of freshly laid eggs. The pics have some noise, because I took the pictures when the tank lights were off. [/img]
  5. Few Clownfish Eggs Pics

Thanks! The eggs are attached to a piece of live rock under the base of the clowns' anemone. Here are a couple pictures that aren't so close up.
  6. Few Clownfish Eggs Pics

No, I haven't attempted to raise the clownfish fry yet. However, I have been researching the equipment and procedures necessary for a future spawning.
  7. Few Clownfish Eggs Pics

Here are a few egg pictures from my ocellaris clowns' most recent spawning event. Equipment: Canon 350D Rebel XT and 100mm f/2.8 Macro lens [/img]
  8. Clownfish Hosted by Rubber Anemone

The heat of July proved too much for almost all of my 60 gallon reef tank's inhabitants. The only survivors were my clownfish pair of 12 years. They looked lost without their host anemones, but I was reluctant to purchase any anemones during these summer months. I read that clownfish will use...
  9. Couple pics of clownfish eggs

I really haven't had the time to try to set up a system to rear the young. Clownfish fry are very small and need organisms like rotifers for their first food. It is kind of sad to think of how many of those eggs have hatched, but never had an opportunity to live. My clownfish usually spawn at...
  10. Couple pics of clownfish eggs

Unfortunately, they are in a community reef tank. I have never witnessed the eggs hatching or the fry swimming. The sources I have looked at say the eggs hatch at night. Taking an educated guess, my pair of clowns has spawned between 50-100 times in the 11 1/2 years I have had them.
  11. Couple pics of clownfish eggs

My ocellaris clown pair spawn regularly, but this is one of the few times where they have laid the eggs facing the front of my aquarium. The eggs hatched a couple of days after these photos were taken. Interesting observation: The male does the vast majority of the egg tending.
  12. Portrait of a Clown

    My female ocellaris clown.
  13. Few pictures of longtime ocellaris clown pair

No, I haven't, as the feeding of the fry seems daunting to me. (Raising cultures of rotifers, etc...) They spawn several times a year, usually during the spring and summer months for some reason. However, I will try to take pictures of the developing eggs. BTW, I use a Canon Rebel XT with a...
  14. Few pictures of longtime ocellaris clown pair

Here are a few pictures of my ocellaris clown pair. They were purchased as juveniles in August 1994. The female has always had the melanistic markings on her dorsal fin and head area. Male: He's been the same size since 1995. Female: She was approximately the same size as the male when...
