Oh and i used 1 1/4" for the top half of the setup which converts to 1" right before the bulkhead. The drain is a 1" clear flexible tube LOFUS i think i understand what you're saying. I look at the clear tube and water is sort of backed up and i think that's where the noise is coming from...

I'm in the process of drilling and building my overflow for my tank right now. I'm gona be using a Durso standpipe setup draining out the lower back of the aquarium instead of the bottom. Since ur bottom is tempered, you shouldn't drill there either. if u want you can look up durso...

haha know nothing about these filters n such, but it seems that there is an empty space for something at the top front of the unit... could i put the DI filter up there? and which one would be the RO filter? i wonder if they have the clear containers for this model i'll take a look at the RO...
