I have a 55 with 20 gal sump below and a 10 gal refugium above. I am trying to grow feather calupera in the refugium but it seems the cyno bacteria is chocking it out . I have a lil cyno in the main tank but i can control it its the refugium that is out of hand. Any suggesstions?? Ive tried...
I use feather calupera because it has greater surfac area and most important seems to be less toxic than the other types....Be very carefull in which kind you choose I had a freind kill off his entire 220 gal reef tank becauase he choose the wrong type. Als prunig is important to keep this toxic...

My refugium sits above my main tank and is built into my canopy for display purposes... I have a 20 gal sump below my main tank. Why the statement of if you add seahorses it is no longer a regugium. It still houses macroalgae and performs the same duties with or without the seahorses....

I just added 2 seahorses to my 10 gal refugium that is about 3 weeks old they have been doin fine...I use a pretty low turn over rate as far as over flow and return goes.. the refugium mainly houses feather calupera
I use liqiud galic to mix with the food. I believe it works similiar to the way it does in humans when the fish ingests it it has to come out either in food waste or excreted through the scales. Supposablly the garlic works like an insectaside.....
