  1. Your Nano Buildoff Contest Winner: Guy

Congratulations Guy! I'm glad the tank I voted for won!
  2. Ecotech Marine Vortech propeller pump

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I know my 1200gph pump doesn't compare to the 3000gph of the prop pumps being discussed here. I'm not trying to compare them to the Super Squirt. what I'm looking for is an answer to "what do they provide my tank and is it worth that much money to get it?"...
  3. Ecotech Marine Vortech propeller pump

I'm really curious about the benifits something like this or a Tunze actually provides. I've been looking at the Oceans Motions Super Squirt, which will redirect my return through four channels. The Super Squirt doesn't add any heat to the tank, it allows me to run outlets to whatever part of...
  4. The end is coming....

 I wanna do another 20 gallon! Hmm, the ideas I have would work in a 10 gallon too, I suppose. It would be interesting to have different requirements for the next challenge, but I'd hate for them to be so different that it discourages people from trying.
  5. Random Pic of new frag

    That only cost $30??
  6. Some more questions about RODI Units

I have a 3g RO tank (looks similar to a propane tank) on the line coming off my RO, and from there lines going to kent float valves on all of my sumps. Been working great for over four years now. :)
  7. Can someone ID these?

I thought the general term was bristleworm, with fireworms being one particular (and nasty) type of bristle worm? Ricordia
  8. My very own Stomatella varia, I think...

I'm am still amazed at the things I'm finding in my nano! Here's another one I've just found; I believe is a Stomatella varia. Can I get a confirmation? It's 3/4 of an inch long, and hanging out on the return pump (which is why this is the best picture I'm going to get of it). Ricordia
  9. The end is coming....

That was Agfahy wasn't it? http://www.reefs.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=65015 I'd like to see how that tank is doing now too. :) Ricordia
  10. how do you make nice silicon edges when making an aquarium?

I used popsicle sticks when I partitioned my nano. They have the perfect round shape, are displosable, and were really cheap. :) Ricordia
  11. Another hitchhiker to ID please!

Thanks for those links! The sheer variety of species is a bit overwhelming! :) I was mainly wondering what it is eating, since as far as I know there aren't any tunicates in my tank at all. The little guy was spotted by my parents on Christmas Day, so it *has* to be eating something! ;)...
  12. Another hitchhiker to ID please!

I just posted a new picture in my nano-buildoff thread: http://www.reefs.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.p ... 229#936229 (shamelessly forcing people to look at my buildoff thread) of another one of these guys! This one looks very similar to (but is about half the size of) the one posted above. I really...
  13. Aiptasia Infestation

Here's a shot from when I first put him in the tank. For size comparison the tang is fully grown. As I said the butterfly is at least twice as large now. I'll try to get a new picture of him tomorrow but the tang has been moved to a different tank. I've been told they can go after other...
  14. Aiptasia Infestation

Update! It's been three months since I added the Klein's Butterfly and the aiptasia is gone. I seriously can't find a single one. The butterfly has doubled in size (at least) and seems happy eating the food I feed the rest of the fish so I think I'm going to keep him for a while in case the...
  15. Float valve help

Where did you get it? Sounds like a good solution. Ricordia
