If you can borrow a PAR meter, you can measure the value. Adjust the height to make the PAR range from the top to the bottom suitable to the corals that you intend to keep.
Placement really depends on the tank and the output of the light. You can put the same light over two tanks of the same size and still have to hang them at different heights. Unless you know what the output values are at different depths in the tank than it's just a matter of trial and error, but I would start off a little higher just to be cautious. Good LEDs can fry coral if they have optics and you hang them too low. Since you don't have coral yet it doesn't really matter but when you start adding you should put them on the bottom and let them acclimate slowly depending on the intensity.
+1.I have the Orphek like some know and I have it 18" over it and even the anemones got a bit stressed out at first.Mine is 60 degrees for a tighter beam but your 90,120 might be good if high enough.
