You have 20 gal FW and it is not doing good, and you want to jump in and get a 90 SW? I recommend you read, read, and then read some more.
If you just look at other peoples setups you will be guided on what you should or should not do.
But a question like "I want to get a 90 gallon tank, do i need a sump?" almost seems like a joke.
If you truly want to get a SW tank, you had better start researching and not just ask a very broad answer like that. Because the answer can actually be "no you dont NEED a sump". I not saying that you should not have one. But you should research at least a little bit...

on the 20 i have Rapids Pro Series Wet/Dry Filter Systems ,Hydor Koralia Evolution Pumps 550, and a Coralife Aqualight HO T-5 Dual Lamp Aquarium Light Fixture . but the coral keep dieing and its full of alge. i test every week and everything is good. the 90 so far i just have the tank and lookin 2 see what i need. i want 2 move up 2 reefs.

Ok then, you have a 20 that is SW and not doing well, your corals are dying. IMO you should get that tank under control and learn by it. Lets try to get that tank up and running and make sure you can sustain that tank before jumping into another.

whats your equipment list . it would help me get a idea of what i need to get.
Patience is definately key. Read Read. There is a lot of information here for you and ask questions. You should first find out what is going on with your 20 before anything. Because you don't want to have that problem in a 90 or anything bigger.

Are you using ro water? Other than you salt being a little high for my blood, levels look pretty good, and if you are having problems with algae then you def have a problem. Why don't you post some "decent" pics of your tank, including a whole tank shot, and some close ups of the problem spots...

Get your 20 under control first. Could be salt swings with a SG that high. Are you topping off evaporated water with fresh or more salt water?
I think a 90 is easier than a 20 as far as water fluctuation. But when you lose coral in your 90, you will lose a lot more.
You don't need a sump for a 90. You can find hang on back components for everything you need to do. We like sumps here at MR but everyone has their own preference.
Wilfresco has a great opportunity for you. Take him up on that.

When was your last time you change your bulbs. How much current of water flow in 20 gallon. How long you keep your lights on. How many fish you have and are you over feeding your tank. What is your salt level? What kind of skimmer you got in 20 gal. Do your homework first. Set up your 90gal for salt and let it run for awhile add some fish than in time start adding coral. No rush take your time and ask question and read from internet and books and magazines. . It takes time..the more you learn the more money you save. good luck..

2-SALT

With out these equipment IMO You will have problems from the beginning.
