I just got my Aquatec 6800 Booster Pump and I went to hook it up to my RO unit, but I don't see much of a difference in pressure.

My sink is putting out 20psi (with cold water to the max). 25psi if I give it a little hot water.

I put the pump between the sink and the RO unit itself and saw no difference in the pressure. Any ideas about what could be causing this?

The RO unit I got used from a friend, who claims the membrane is fairly new...

Is there another faucet you can hook into? There could be a restriction on the upstream side of the sink fitting.

A washing machine cold faucet is usually OK but right after the service enters the house is the best if you have a house.

I'm pretty sure you can adjust the pressure on the aquatic pumps. I'm not sure how to do it though. Check that out it may be that the setting just needs adjustment. I have the 8800 and never had to make an adjustment. But was told that you could.

That adjustment only to lower the pressure not to raise plus he has 6800 model not the 8800 one...

I realize he has has the 6800. I was using the 8800 as a comparison.

The pressure is in fact adjustable. It's possible it is adjusted all the way down. Also make sure that the pump is not running when you turn on water, it may be possible that there is air trapped within causing the discrepancy.

Yeah, I tried a couple of other spots around the house. I actually get a lower PSI level since all the other sinks are upstairs. I even tried the hose faucet outside since that doesn't go through the home filtration system, I get 25psi outside.

Maybe I did get a pump? hard to say at this time...

Hey guys, just when I was about to give up, I think I finally figured it out. The pump does work, everything was setup correctly, except 1 thing. There was no flow restrictor on the drain tube. I put a ball valve (only thing I had on hand) and my PSI went straight through the roof.

And yes I tested it with and without the pump on. Thanks for the help though!
