What time do your lights turn off . In my experiance it is not unusal for corals to start to get ready for a night cycle about 30 min before the lights go out. Especially if the light cycle has not been changed in some time and the corals have grown to know it.

I have AI's and when the lights start to dim down the corals will close a bit. It really has nothing to do with the brand of AI, it is just your lighting.

It would help to know a little more about your tank though. What size? How many lights? How far are they AWL.

What settings are you currently using?

I have 2 AI Super Blue over my 75 and I am not running over 75% on whites, and I am getting good par at the sand bed. Have great growth on my corals.

If your corals look good and have nice polyp extension when the lights are at their max (with your current settings), then IMO you are fine. But if at max the corals do not look good you may want to dial them back.

It comes down to your tank and what lighting it needs. It is hard for anyone to tell you what to set your lights at.

If you can get a hold of a PAR meter you can map your tank to see if there is too much light or not enough.
