I am not knocking the AI lights I just want the Ferrari of led lights. This tank is going to be inside a home movie theater which cost me over $30,000 it has every bell and whistle I want the same for my reef system the best of the best AI falls short on this list IMO I know they grow corals but I demand more.

I have 3 Pacific Sun fixtures over my 210, specifically they are the 160w black python fixtures.

What I can say about them...they were worth every penny, nothing I personally don't like about them. I have 1 master so I saw you mentioned the ghl controller which in my case is not necessary nor do I think you need one as long as you have a laptop with Bluetooth (which who doesn't now a days anyways). In terms of lighting and programming they are awesome.

The software you use is very user friendly. You can change the color temperature with a simple slider on the software and adjust the intesity pretty easily with a percentage value. Sunset and sunrise programming works like a charm and it allows you to choose the amount of time it takes up to 180 minutes. The moonlight simulation is also a feature I like to use and works well in terms of intensity by following the lunar calendar and automatically adjusting to the respective intensity for each moonphase. The new software also has lighting and seasons simulation but I'm not into all that.

Lighting wise, I run mine at just 75% and they light up the tank pretty well. Keep in mind, I have many anemones in this tank (which is 29" deep) with 2 carpets on the sandbed and a magnifica and they're all happy.

From personal opinion only, I feel that they are much better built than many other fixtures, super sleek design, huge heat sink, two big fans, 50 LEDs and nicely painted aluminum casing (which is nice for a change since some have plastic housing). IMO and as you said these are like the Ferraris of LEDs.

Hope this review helps and if you have any other questions I'd be glad to answer them to aid you in making your decision.

I have the Metis XM fixture which is still in production but they have an even fancier fixture called the Hyperion. You can even get the Hyperion with T5 attachments if you want to go all out. They also just released OSX software for these models also if you are in a Mac enviroment.
They are a slim light that will cover your depth nicely since there are no focal optics utilized. My Metis XM is a powerful light whereas the 10w XM Crees are a bit over powering, but with the Hyperion and it's added color range, this should be balanced out.
I got mine from the manufacturer in Poland but as you stated, they now have a US distributor in MA which provides sales and support for the product. You missed a 10% off sale that they had a week or two ago!

Thanks for all your feedback

just wanted to thank everyone who took the time to discuss their lights with me. It was very helpful and i appreciate all the input. I have decided to go with the Metis Hyperion and the ghl controller (selling my new Apex lite still in the boxes) the new lights come with a beta version of mac software full version is on the way. If anyone is interested in the pacific sun lights i can recommend Yorgos from imagine an ocean in MA he is the only US supplier at the moment. He spent lots of time with me on my system and 210 gal build and was very knowledgeable not just on the lights. Thanks again!

You will very happy with the pac sun led. I have the pandora hyperion which is the metis with 4 t5's. its on my 315g 72x36x28 and its amazing light. par readings are off the chart. got readings on 350 on the sand bed with leds and t5's on and light about 32" above the bed. worth every penny.

Triton

Triton is the new Pacific sun led light I ordered them from Yorgos at Imagine an Ocean. He is the only US dealer for these lights. Great guy and costumer service has been wonderful. I am meeting up with him this coming weekend up in MA to pick up my controller! Thanks for the info again. I am excited about the lights but they wont be in the US until late June. So my build is on hold.
