Cyano is a bacteria. Cyano solution from what I can find is an antibiotic

I read this. It makes sense. I would like to try it with a common alternative but I don't have the guts. I have amoxicillin left over from a prescription. In theory this should work to rid the tank of cyano?

Think it's erythromycin in cyano solution, but not 100% sure.

Been awhile since I had the time to log on. My son, and his family were up for a visit. Grandchildren take precedence over everything on account I hardly ever see them.
Did you finally get your Reactor & GFO? I hope so!!! I never use USPS on account that one never gets packages on a timely matter. I don't trust USPS at all.
I did end up using the "ChemiClean". Worked great, no problems!! One dose is all it took.
Did a 20% water change 48hrs later. It will make your skimmer go nuts, but I use this to my advantage. I do not turn off my skimmer, but I do remove the collection cup, place a bowl over the top of the skimmer so that I don't end up with salt creep all over the place. This provides a crazy amount of oxidation. No cyano since.
I am still having an issue with some gha (green hair algae) that is proving to be quite stubborn. Water changes, gfo, gac, lanthanum chloride, very little feedings, quite a few crabs & snails, and I am still having this issue which I haven't had in years. Only thing I can figure is all the deaths starting with dear old "Super Storm Sandy" as caused a tremendous amount of P04.

Well it has been more than a week luckily enough BRS shipped another package to me with UPS instead of USPS this time. I am so pissed with USPS. Guys I know this is about red slime but bare with me let me give my story on USPS with my package;
Called office on 38th st. they said they have no package, am to call 52 nd street (Radio City Office). Called they said they have my package I can come get it because they sent it to the wrong post office and they never made any attempt to deliver. Wasted $5 ON METROCARD taking my 1 hour lunch to go there last week Thursday, only to hear they sent it to 38th office. Called the office (38th) They said it came this morning but it is on truck enroute to be deliver to me at my work place (eBAY). Friday came nothing, I walked to 38th street 2 blocks from me to claims department.......they cant find it they will call me when they locate it.

Argggggggggg This is why I despise USPS, and I thought it was just our (Far Rock) services that are so skewed.....
They wonder why they are not getting much business.

Well late yesterday the so called USPS dropped off my package at wok, literally dropped it by the door with saying nothing, installed my GFO deluxe reactor last night works like a charm. Now to fully tackle red slime, only have little patch of it

I shut off my skimmer, and carbon then dosed chemi clean and did a 20% 48hrs later, and another 10% after 24hrs and it was all gone!! Like all all gone lol

i just dosed cyano solutions, shut off carbon and phosban. Skimmer is running but dialed it down almost all the way. With no collection cup just a dish ontop of it .
.Hey guys is there anything wrong with using ultralife red slime remover . It was the only brand could found in Brinx or Yonkers. I can't find the chemiclean brand without purchasing online, I must admit being an idiot I just realize Chrmiclean is Boyd brand which is different from ultra life,

Cyano is never 100% gone hehe. It exists in all water and is what keeps the ecosystem stable.

Exactly, cyano is actually a blue/green bacteria.

I very little signs of Cyno in my tank, I have been keeping up with my weekly 5% water change and feeding my fish once a day very little. Tank doing ok so far, got few pieces of coral and a anemone. GFO reactor running.
