Emerald Crab being mobbed!

I got recommended 60 cerith (not dwarf) snails for each of my 40g breeders and now a bunch are dead.

I'm not too happy with the dwarfs. They don't seem to be doing much and I end up pulling out several from each filter sock whenever I swap them.

Yeah its been running since end of March. I got the CUC to handle my diatom bloom but its pretty much under control now at least for the time being so I guess food might be getting scarce. I started dropping pellets to supplement but I'm pissed about that emerald. Those guys are cool to watch. Funny this is when the pellets hit the sand, a bunch of snails popped out of the sand as if they heard it hit the ground. is that possible??

The snails that pop up when food is dropped to the sand bed are nassaruis snails that's a normal thing they do.
