Actually I'm controlling my MP40s with the Apex WXM Module, and both Vortechs are plugged into a regular power strip; EB8 outlets are a premium. I have my Vortechs fallback onto Reef Crest. One of my Vortechs is connected to a 1500VA UPS in case of power outage.

Anytime! I would put it on Fallback On in case the EB8 loses communication with the Apex brain/headunit.

Just dropped by my house and my return pump is off. I want it on all the time. How do I do that?

On all the time is simple.

Fallback ON
Set ON

That's the simplest form. You can include turning off during feed modes/tank maintenance if you like. We can go further into the programming for that if you like.

Where is "set"? I'm on the web portal, under "outlet setup". I don't have "set" listed on my screen.

Change the CONTROL TYPE to ADVANCED for your return pump outlet. This will open up a field you can enter the commands.

I use the Apple Time Capsule as my home WIFI router and I used my old Airport Express in Bridge mode and plugged the APEX into the ethernet slot. It works perfect! I don't upgrade over WIFI, I run a cable across the living room.

I'm sure it looks daunting at first but after I got the hang of it, it makes managing my tank so much easier

• It emails me whenever any parameter goes out of ranges I set
• I can set different feed modes depending on what I'm doing or feeding or doing a water change
• It's easy for my wife and friends to feed/do easy maintenance when all they have to do is click a few buttons.
• It turns fans/heater on off when needed.
