best salt for reef tank

I have used esv, reef crystals, tropic marine pro, regular IO, coralife.

I am currently using regular instant ocean and my tank is more successful than it has ever been in the past. IMO it is because salt mix had nothing to do with it. Only the man in the mirror.

Coralife.....For life.

Used Red Sea Pro and couldn't stand the clay they use as a binder building up over time.

Coralife mixes dead nuts every time and
It's levels are very consistent.

Instant Ocean has lower Calcium and Magnesium, so I make adjustments to a new batch of saltwater before making the waterchange in the display tanks. I'm not adjusting the water chemistry inside the tank before making the waterchange, lol...

When I had a big tank and went full SPS I used ESV. Now on my tiny 14g bio cube w zoos and acans I just use Reef Crystals. I Also dose esv 2part and liquid magnesium.

I was using Red Sea Coral Pro for about a year and recently switched to Instant Ocean. The thing that I instantly loved about Instant Ocean is the instructions they gave along with the scoop for the salt. It is very simple to get to my desired level of 1.025 in one shot.

Why do say it was a downgrade? The main reason I switched was because I was buying that salt for more money but found myself dosing very regularly so I went to IO. After this batch I may try out RC though, still contemplating.

I don't think it's a downgrade if you'll end up dosing anyways. You'll save money down the line.
