lighting questions

I'm new to reefs. I have a 55gal reef tank I'm starting. I have read the rule of thumb is 4 watts per gallon. I have been looking at led lights but there is a lot to choose from. Does any one have a suggestion? I also trying to stay in the $300 range if possible. Thanks in advance.

55 long. I haven't really looked at specific coral yet. I wanted to have soft and hard coral. I'm a newbie at this and I'm taking my time. Lots to learn.

I was thinking of some Mushroom, polyps and brain coral. As far as fish goes: Tangs, Clown fish (would be the last fish I would introduce) and invertebrates as well. Cool tank BTW
