Compatibility swissguard

I bought one of these fish today ,not realizing that it is semi aggressive ,and also to use caution with fire fish .I have a 40 gallon breeder with 2 clowns ,1 yellow clown goby and a purple fire fish,does anybody have this fish and a firefish and are they getting along.Also i would like to get 2 more fish for my tank ,would that be to many fish for a 40g b.

No idea about the swissguard but you can have a lot of fish in a 40 breeder as long as you have decent filtration or are a renegade reefer.

I had the cheap one that looked like a candy basslet just not nearly as bright ! Cool fish never came out of rock work never bothered anything would only catch glimpses of him me i wouldn't worry about that fish getting aggressive as long as u don't add another basslet but there no guarantees in this hobby

Yeah mine is the cheaper one ,it is called Swales swissguard on live aquaria it is listed for 79.00 but I paid no way near that i paid 20.00 for him .I read up a little on him and like u said they don't come out much they like to hide in rock from what I have read.He is in a 10 gallon with a couple PVC fittings for now ,my problem right now is he won't eat anything,I added Kent's garlic extreme but he still won't eat ,maybe he needs more time to adjust at least i hope that's why he's not eating.

Do u think 8 or 9 fish would be okay ,I currently have 4 in the 40B ,there will be 5 when I transfer the swissguard in about 6 weeks ,I don't have a sump ,I have cheato loose wedged behind some rocks in the tank ,I have an aquaclear 70 hob with just carbon in it but I do plan to add purigen and to switch out the carbon for chemipure elite .

First, Swales and Swissguards are not the same basslets---very similar looking but one is Pacific and one is Caribbean. The good news is that both are very shy, docile fish. I've never seen either bother anything. Firefish are pretty wimpy, but I would not imagine you having a problem.

I have read that they eat smaller fish,i have a yellow clown goby do you think that adding him to the 40G with the goby might not be such a good idea.

I do have one but it is rated for up to gallons ,and it never worked,called rio nano skimmer .I will be getting a hob one soon though,maybe reef octopus or remora.

Swissgaurds and swales are similar in personality. They move in and out of the rocks. I had one with a helfrichi and multiple clown gobies. All fish have their own personality keep in mind. 8 to9 fish depends on the size of your fish... It can work, but you need to diversify by the habits of a fish lifestyle ( swimmers vs perchers vs bottom dwellers). Good luck
