This coral just started sliming after I had put some e. pacifica plankton in the water. Anyone know if this is good/bad and an explanation? Thanks, Nate

OH great, I saw one of my frags doing that, and I was afraid it was dying. I also noticed that the tips are white, so I guess that is a good thing? As in.. it is growing?

White tips on corals

white tips may be indication of lighting too strong

That gets me thinking. A lot of my new frags have white tips. It looks to me that they are just growing, but is it possible that my lighting is too strong? I have 2 400W 14k bulbs. This frag is about 10" from the surface.

btw i just learned today that new growth sometimes appears lighter in color because its growing faster then the pigments and zooxanthelle (spelling?) can be produced
