Hi everybody:

I have green coraline all over my glass everyday I clean it with the magnet, my goal is to have purple, red or pink coraline in the back only, Ive been cleaning the back of my tank too because I dont like the green coraline.

My question is to achieve the coraline in the back should I leave the green or keep cleaning it until I see another color of coraline I like growing on it?

I have seen tanks with nothing but pink and purple coraline, mine is nothing but green in the back, a started to get a lil purple in my glass. I let it be, as HOF said... the green eventually turns into purple and pink. Maybe you should leave a test spot in the back, so you can see if it does indeed turn colors, and how long will it take. Remember that in our hobby progress and success are a function of time... lots of time.
I am going to be in Orlando in Feb with my company for a few days... I definitely need to see your non-worm, non-green coraline tank.
:)
Good luck

Im so worried about my tank im in Puerto Rico my dad is taking care of it, is my first time away from my fishes I miss taking care of them. :(

I do have purple, red and pink coraline in my live rock so I hope I get some in the glass.

The green stuff on the glass are usually diatom algae, not coraline. Do they come off easily with a magnet cleaner? You should keep the glass clean of diatom algae since it won't help you with the purple coraline growth.

Yeah, keep the glass clean, it is the darker one that forms in the back wall the one I am talking about. I hope you gave your dad very specific instructions, how much to fish, what time. I went to dallas for 5 days and I have my ex's dad feed the tank, I told him exactly how much and how to do it... one week later... everything was fine, just the glass needed to be cleaned.
Best of luck

by the way, I read in one of the threads of a trick to bring the worms out. You don't feed the tank for a day at least... and then turn off the pumps... set a bunch of food far from the rocks (as far as you can), and the worms will start coming out, looking for the food. While they are in the open, away from the rocks, in the sand... you can pick them up.
Again, just because it was in a thread doesn't mean that it does work, but sounds like a feasible idea.
