Its made by Kent Marine, the TDS comes with the unit I bought. I dont know what im doing wrong but by the time I ran the system for 2 hours.. the TDS reading on the filtered water was WAY up higher then it was when I started.

I did not know that KM has relabelled OEM TDS meters... Well, anyay, call the seller/manufacture directly if there is no instruction that came with the filter to ensure the TDS meter, and more importantly, the RO filter, is working properly.

Did you use it on distilled water? As mentioned above, tap water should give you 50-120ppm, and RO should give you around 10ppm, and DI should be way under 5ppm (most are around "0" for DI).

BTW, who made the TDS meter, and does it come with instruction on calibration and usage?

Tang - I've seen you say this a couple of times now - The TDS range you cite for tap water is low. Nos. exceeding 800 ppm TDS in tap water are not uncommon.

Depending yupon the rejection rate of the membrane you're using, Post RO TDS levels should be somewhere between about 2% and 10% of the pre-membrane numbers.

Reading this thread it looks like there was some misunderstandings - did you get your RO/DI figured out? If not, I'd be happy to work through it with you here or via PM.

I used to live in the same neighborhood as ndimuzio, so I know what should the rough number be, give or take 50% :D

From the other thread, you got your filter from MarineDepot? Give them a phone call and see if they can give you better service than using mere email. They are great when it come to post-sale service.
