WOW, i do have a wet-dry but i took out half the bio-balls to lower the nitates. i also have a kent 300 gal. protien skimmer, and i am trying to get my denitator working. i want to put the piggy-back on for two reasons, one to assist in the denitratingand two to grow pods to feed the fish.
I am trying to get on the right track, but with a 150 gal. tank it is hard to keep the coast down. plus i am running a 55 gal. too.
thanks for all your help too

If you have enough live rock/sand in the tank you should be able to gradually eliminate the bioballs which will help a bit. Once empty, you might be able to use that area for a fuge instead of having to go with a hang-on setup. Also, make sure your skimmer is producing well - keep it clean and adjusted. IME a denitrator isn't necessary to keep nitrates under control if you have the other stuff in place.

will a wet-dry for a 200 gal. tank be good enough for a refugium? I know the denitrator is not necessary except i like too many differnt fish. 21 to be exact. If i can get away with turning the wet-dry into a refugium, i will do away with the denitrator.
I do clean the skimmer every day and it works well for me.
thanks

It's not really an exact science, so it's tough to give a good answer to that IMO. Unless the area you have in mind is very small, it should provide some benefits. You'll probably have a lot more volume available to you in the empty wet/dry than you would have had with a hang-on setup, and bigger is better in this case.
