Give me your best skimmer on a budget

ok here is another skimmer question for you. I am planning on a 120-150 reef tank with DSB and LR with a sump as well. I am currently looking at Life reef and PM bullet 1. What are your thoughts. I have been out of the hobby for a few years and need a nudge back in lol. Thanks for your advice.

I like the ASM-G series skimmer,and you can't beet the price.

I have a remora pro on my 90 and absolutely love it. Since you have a smaller tank I would just get the regular remora, which i think on marinedepot.com it runs around 170$.

I have a VS3-24 from LifeReef. It is a very good skimmer with a lot of nice options and the construction is solid.

everyone always overlooks the real budget skimmer...

air driven.

you can't beat them in the 'bang for your buck' category.

they are bit higher maintenance in comparison to any other type of skimmer, and they are not so nice to look at if you don't have a sump. but i do think they are some of the better skimmers out there when looking in the 0-150 dollar range.

Heh, that's true. Airstone/airpump technology seems to have improved considerably over the years so the air-drivens may not be as high maintenance as they used to be either. It will be interesting to see if they get popular again in the future...
