all my LR is a greenish color with coralline aglae on it. i really don't like the grenish color of it. does anyboby know of a way to white it up. my phophate and silcate are go so that not the problem. thanks in advice!!!!
i don't think it depends on what kind of rock you have, but what kind of algae is covering it. i'm guessing it's a new tank. if so, you'll have to wait a bit, and with proper husbandry, the green will disappear and the purple will cover.
if you want to turn it white, a long spined sea urchin will be a good addition to that tank. you'll never have another thing growing on that rock.

no. white means no coralline. live rock is live because of the bacteria on all surfaces, inside it, on the outside...it's only asthetically better when it's purple :wink:
