The Distilled water from walmart is the purple cap not the green cap.

Don't use that in your tank please.

I use it with no problems I also use the 2.5 gallon ones with the green label but on that label it says processed by reverse osmosis and/or distllation and ozonation so far no problems and happy fish and corals I have never tested the water

Hey Len, some people don't have room for them in their already cramped living spaces. I don't understand why people won't storm city hall and demand bloomy give me a raise worth getting shot at for so I can buy a house and an RO/DI unit. I guess there are things we all can't understand.

RO/DI units definately pay for themselves in the long run. what if you cant get to walmart for water one week/month? its also eco-friendly too: dont have to drive anywhere

I've been using the Green cap water from Walmart since day one in my 12 gallon nano for over 15+ months. They switched the water processor about half way through so the bottles will leak a little if you leave them on their sides. I have the suspicion that the old water processor had a better quality water but I'm not truly sure. I tested the water in the very beginning and all read perfect. I don't have all the meters or testers though so I can't tell you now.

I would be interested to hear how it checks out now. Anyone have a TDS tester and all the other testing kits to check it???

....

U d be surprised how small RO/DI unit can be.

Also there are several ways u can "sell" or explain to ur parents that if an RO/DI unit would be installed, with a few adjustments this water is the most healthiest to drink.

Some say that di water is no good for u, (some say its healthy to drink distilled water occasionally), to avoid this u can split the hose that leads to ur DI membrane into a collection tank, or to ur fausat, u can have a quality drinking water at ur fingertips.

Great idea Drperetz...

Never even thought of splitting the line into a different storage....Good idea, I will actually persue that idea.

Hello All

I am thinking of getting an RO system. I have only a 26 gallon tank but have been using Cystal Rock Bottled water (max of 4 a month). I know if I had an RO system it would be beneficial. However, the kitchen has granite countertop and to drill hiles in its surface would be oh god knows..difficult I guess?

Any suggestions for plumbers anyone? Here is the analysis for Cystral Premium Water:
