Starting a 75 gallon reef setup

The HOB overflow works fine for me. Sometimes it makes a sound like a small toilet flushing but otherwise it's not too bad. I don't have a problem with the sipon nor do I need to prime it after a water change. Actually I've never had those problems and I've HOB overflows for close to 20 years.

Yes my LPS collection has started to grow. I'm working on SPS collection and have a lot of frags in the system. I'll let them grow out a bit before I take some pics.

I use a coralife fixture with (2) Phoenix 14K 250w hqi bulbs and (2) 96w PC actinics.

Thanks Vlad. I still have some issues that I hope to address soon. My LPS do pretty well but now I also want to get some SPS going in the upper reaches of the tank.
