does anyone know of an all in one supplement for reef tanks that includes all the major and minor trace elements, vitamins etc. i had julian sprung's reef formula but i would use the whole bottle for one serving in my 215 gal tank. it required 2-4 drops /gallon. on the low end that would be 430 drops.

I supplement Methanol, Stronium nitrate and Elos amino acids and thats it,,lol.. Please don't try this list with out a natureef denitrifier...

they are all the same as far as amount to dose. It gets expensive quick with the all in one addatives.

kent essential elements is pretty good-1 capful per 50 gal but it lacks some things. i guess the answer is no.

I use to use them A LONG time ago ... then they sold the company and the product was never the same.

I would say water changes if you're using ideal water.

There is no "magic potion" for a reef tank that works for everyone out there. There are too many variables.

but if I was to recommend using one product I would say ESV bi-ionic and water changes.

Do you test regularly? And what are you testing for?

i test regularly and i test ph, nitrate, nitrite, calcium and alkalinity etc. i'm basically referring to trace elements, strontium, iodine, magnesium. will regular water changes be enough or do i need to supplement?

you can test for magnesium, strontium and Iodine as well. If you really want to know if you should test first then add only what is needed.

For most of us, yes, regular water changes is all you need. Look at the contents of your salt and it will tell you what is in it. But you may have somthing that consumes some element or another and the only way you can know for sure is testing.
