coral bleaching

hey guys,,how can i tell if my sps is bleaching ,,,i had it for ova a week ,,and the tips are turning kinda white ,,,i dunno if its growing or diying

my paramters are
ph-8.3
nitrate-0
nitrite-o
cal-420
alk-10
amm-0
i dont have any other tests....

I have a pink birdsnest that has been doing that for a while. It seems like its growing because if my parameters where all out of whack, it would've bleached a while ago.

Make sure the sps is placed on top of DT where it will get the most light!

i have a mh/t5 light ,,,and its near the middle/top of tank

Maybe bring it all the way to the top, so you know for sure that is getting the right amount of lighting.

Are you talking about a birdsnest? If so, than yes. How is your flow towards the top?

no,,its not a birdsnest,,its some sort of acan,,,i bought it from pet warehouse in copiage,,the guy there didnt even know what it was,,i just liked the color

Post a picture. If it is an acan, move it to an area of the tank that gets less light.

i was just worrying bc it looks like the tips are turning white,,,and one end of it was broken ,,that wy i got it for a good price,,i hope i didnt do a mistake by taken a broken frag

If your parameters are right(which they are), it will grow back don't worry.

it's some sort of acro, not acan

the white tips are new growth. The color takes time to develop in the newly-grown tips. Don't worry and don't move it around any more, as moving the coral around will slow the growth as it has to adjust to its new placement.
