refugium vs sump

A sump is an additional tank that adds water volume and holds unsightly equipment. It can be used to store a skimmer, heaters, reactors, etc.

Heres my sump that sits under the DT and holds my skimmer, phos reactor, heater carbon and return pum. That pump is split and feeds my DT and the 30 gal refugium below

This is the 30 display fuge that sits higher then the DT and drains into it.

This is my 30 gallon sump that I just added a fuge to last weekend.
Because of the lighting you have to look at both pics to see both sides. This is a fuge inside a sump. Among other things.
