I have a Juvenille Blue Hippo Tang about 4" but it has ick, it comes and goes, when it goes the tang's blue is very royal. He's an aggressive eater. I've been feeding him Formula 1, Seaweed, mysis shrimp all soaked in garlic, and my cleaner shrimp and bloodfire are constantly cleaning him, i'm even using Kick ICK but for some reason he's stressed in my tank and the ick keeps coming back, and he's infected my other fish, this sounds crazy but if anyone has a quarintine tank and can rid the ick from the tang and would like to trade me something for it like Ricordeas, ZOOS, cleaner shrimp, live rock, I paid $45 bucks for him, i'm not expecting that much in trade cause of the ick but something reasonable. Crazy I know but if someone can keep him healthy then i'd rather that.

The problem with Ich is that even if you remove him from your main tank & treat him, he will get it again when you put him back in your main tank. Unless you remove ALL of the fish from your main tank for at least 6 weeks. Without a host the ich will eventually die off, but as long as there is a fish host in your main tank, it won't go away completely.

I would leave him in there as long as he is eating aggressively, watch him closely & try to figure out what's stressing him.

I'd give the tank 8 weeks without fish, just to be safe.

but you have to make sure you cure the fish of the ich otherwise it's a waste of time.

I dunno about you guys but it's hell trying to get fish out of my tank. I've been trying to catch 3 chromis for the past month and 1/2. How can you quarantine when you can't even catch the fish. All i can say is garlic...feed him garlic like there's no tomorrow. Even when my fish are fine I feed them garlic. Back to the topic though...bump for someone who can help this reefer save his fish.
