mark does great work.. i saw your tank and it's really nice.. he's the best option if you want to go custom though price wise it's about the same as getting a new elos..

nothing, there is no comparing anything to an elos, yes reefoman does some nice work but there is no comparison between starphire glass and the crystal elos glass

Guys thanks for great feedback I appreciate it very much.

Master Shake just want to let you know that Elos are using the same starphire (low iron) glass like other high end tank manufacturers in Europe for example one company is also in Italy and the name of this company is Xaqua.
They not using crystal glass I can warranty my English is to bad to explain what exactly crystal glass is. but if you dont mind to spend 5 minutes to find the definition of crystal (hi Pb) glass online you'll understand what I mean

The only difference between my tanks and Elos tanks are overflows and the bottoms, to be honest I'm not surprised that they doing double glass for the bottom cause if you'll check them (Ikea) quality cabinets you'll also ask for double protection. You don't have to be a magician to do rimless tank not using masking tape, it's old school method I'm using over 17 years probably exact same as they using, and one more thing I don't copy them tanks I haven't even heard about this company when started my projects long time ago I'm not sure if they was in the business that days.
This is not what I'm doing for living (not yet) and always trying my best to do good job and keep the price acceptable for folks from our community.

First thing is that my opinion is solely on my experience and my likings, everyone is different.

Personally i like Elos tanks, There everflo box is what i like the most. There bottom glass design don't mean much to me wether it has 5 pieces or 1 as long as it holds water. My 340 gallon tank setup cost me more then 2 Elos 160xl so the money was not the issue..
Reason I did not go with Elos was mainly because there stand was extremely disappointing to me. Not worth the money to me. What's a stand with no bottom.And for what i saved between the two Marks tank was a better purchase to me.I'm not saying that one is better then the other. I went to Elos Aqua studio and saw things that i was not crazy about. There display tank (I think it was the 120) the front pane was off in height from the side pane by a good margin. The cabinet doors were sagging. And this is at there display store. I do have to say the bottom pane looks impressive. There overflo is awesome though. How small it is.

Anyway i don't want to turn this into a debate. Everyone has there own preference. I'm just saying that if your looking to buy something nice with a similar look to elos but get it new, Reefoman and Martin can make it happen. Feel free to go to aqua studio's, And if you want to compare you can come take a look at my setup feel free. Last thing in glass comparison.. I would love to see if the average person can tell the difference between starphire and crystal glass. I know people that can't tell the difference between regular and starphire.

I agree that reefoman's stands is nicer than the elos. There's no question it's built with better material and better engineered. In all fairness, the Elos stand is 1/2 the price, so it's not an apple to apple.

As far as the sagging goes with the Elos cabinet doors, I believe the hinges are adjustable and its matter of playing around with the screw adjusters.

Is it really? How do you figure. Are you sure your checking the right stand. Are you checking the Elos 120 which 689.00. even so, Wrong stand. Check the Elos 120XL which is 1289.00, I paid 800.00. So where is the Elos stand half price. Or did you mean that Martins stand cost almost half of Elos.

John we can build exact same quality (cheap) cabinet/stand for tank bottom 40"x22"...
The stand dimensions will be 40"x22"34"H painted white or black for $650
