I have two rainbow nems. Ive had them for a long time, since before my tank upgrade over a year ago. I recently had a bryopsis issue that is confined to a small area in my tank and have been trying to kill it by raising my magnesium with tech m. before it spreads out of control. My nems were beautiful and bubbled for as long as I can remember. one day they all decided to up and start to walk. I dont know how much longer I will have to be battling this bryopsis problem. Nothing else in my tank seems to be effected by the increase in magnesium. I know the heavy metal can not be good for them long term and they are suffering. I have two of these rainbow nems and i really need to get them out of my tank asap. I dont want to sell them. They are so beautiful and they were my favorite thing in the tank. I would like to know if someone would be interested in taking both of them for a little while and holding on to them for me while i continue my battle with tech m. and then give me one back when my tank is settled out hopefully in a few weeks. So If you have a well established tank with good water quality thats been running for at least a year, are local to nassau county, and are looking for a rainbow bubble tip anemone here is an opportunity to get one for free for doing me a favor. this picture is from about a month ago
I'm rather optimistic that the cause of their unhappiness is the increase in magnesium for a few reasons but mainly because that's the only thing i changed and also that i've had them for over a year and they were always bubbly and never moved around on me and that they both started moving at the same time right after i started the mag dosing. They both survived sandy and are really beautiful nems. They are mother daughter. These guys sell for over $100 so its a good deal to someone that meets the requirements and is willing to take on the proposed risk. I wouldn't put in the time and effort to try and find someone keep them if I didnt think they would survive. I am willing to give one up to get one back at a later time as opposed to keeping them and watching them both die.
Do I do let the bryopsis take over to save the nems? I cant take out the rock because its my main rock, and nothing in my tank touches it. Has anyone else had issues with anemones and increasing your magnesium levels to treat bryopsis?
sorry for the long post
Pm for more information
