Pick up only. It's not eating anything I fed it and it is starting to recess. If anyone is successful with them and other LPS, they are welcome to come and pick it up for free.

Alevopora has 12 tentacles per polyp and goniopora has 24. How many does yours have?

Did you try feeding cyclopeeze, they love that stuff. Looks like a goni to me from picture.

my 2 cents..

actually i havent heard it its been done and in the process of verifying if these two species of corals coexist with eachother to thrive. alot of people that have gonios are doing this to see if its true. and yes i know its an alevopra thanks.

Where'd you hear that?????

BTW this IS NOT a goniopora, its an alevopora ;)

They coexhist and do not need eachother to thrive. I have a red/blue dot goniopora all by itself for over a year and half doing very well :)

im very proud to hear that. but 1 year really isnt that long for these corals. some can out live you. have you had any goni babies yet? the idea is the same as grouping your corals. the more closer the same or related corals are the better they can do in captivity. i didnt want to start anything in this thread. but goniopora and alveopora can coexist and thrive if raised together. but this is just a hypothesis. im not saying it wont thats all. good luck with your gonio have fun taking care. they are like babies

Umm, didn't i say they can coexhist? And i never said that a year and a half is long, i was merely stating that my goni has been around without an alevepora for a year and a half.

Okay guys... Ink passed. I had no time to get a hold of anyone last night. Dee, I guess you are next in line. If you are still in, let me know. Pick up can be anytime today.
To all interested, please be advised that it has recessed even further and has bleached white. There isn't much tissue left and personally, I do not think it is going to make it. Hopefully someone will be able to help it.
I frequently feed my tank cyclopeeze. It retracted every time I target fed it. I've tried those reef roids. No luck. Nothing with frozen rotifers either.
BTW, it was purchased from a vendor as an alveopora. Doesn't exactly mean it is.
