I'm posting this for a friend who does maintenance. One of his customers decides to order 15 clams in one shot for a pretty much newly established tank, after my friend had already advised against it. The customer states he saw a picture of someone's tank surfing through the web with a lot of clams, and thought that if someone else could do, so could he... :fishhit:

Needless to say, his tank is not in a condition to hold this many clams for long.

If anyone is interested, please let me know, and I will go pick them up and house a few in my tank (College Point, Queens)... but don't ask me to hold them in my tank for more than a day, because I only have a 20 gallon myself, and the last thing I want to do is crash my tank.

He's asking for $40 each on the 1-1.5" and $60 each for the 2-2.5" which he states is what he paid.

Here's what's left:

3 on the right are the smaller ones.

3 blues here are the larger ones.

Clams

Do you need MH lights to keep clams? I have a 24gal Nano with the compact lights that come with the tank. Will these be good enough? If so, I will take a small blue clam.
Let me know where you are located and if you can meet tomorrow.
Thanks,
Joe

they do best in mh, but i have seen them do well in compact as long as the water is good and is high up to the light..... with mh the clam will grow better. MH is my suggestion.

send me better pics. if he can do some small discount i'll take 4

I should've taken some pictures when I was there :tired:... sorry, I got caught in the moment.

There was only 8 when I got there, and I took 2. So now there's only 6 left... 3 tiny, and 3 small. I'll ask about the discount.

i would advise anyone to stay away from maximas that size.

Yes, definitely not for newbies. I should've had a disclaimer from the beginning.

My experience is to feed the little ones diligently. I've been fortunate enough to keep a few tiny ones successfully.

Those who are interested, please make sure you're up to the task.

Don't go blaming me... :eek:k:?
