Invertors or Generator = Too much money for Kris.
Just my Nickel ;)

I know it's a lot of money to spend. I bought a generator for $400 at home depot the year before the big blackout we had, as I said it still did not work for me. I could not store enough gas to run it.
I'd rather switch to a big inverter hooked up to a couple of deep cycle marine batteries, but the initial cost is keeping me from doing this.

the flip-side is to look at what happened in Nicks tank, could a back-up system have saved the livestock? if so then the $600 or so spent on the inverter would have been worth it. consider the time and money invested in your tank(s) and then decide if a back-up system makes sense for you.

I know someday I'm going to get the inverter, but I'm playing the odds nothing will happen until I do.

sorry to get OT this thread was for selling your frags.
