they were asking for $275. It was a great price cosidering the size of the fish it was at least 7-10" . It was huge. but if dont eat you must ....... LOL. yeah it was at bietails in pearl river. he has great reef stuff imho. great rock as well. can be pricey. but fish i got the price off of the wall on a picture where he keeps the prices. he has quality stuff. my only problem is that none of the employees there know how much the fish are and if you ask him any questions they have to stop-- call him and then give you the answer. so in all its a dragged out time. I think the guy who was giving me the prices was judging me based on my appearance because he doesnt put prices on the tank to let you know. I didnt like that. Also after the 3rd fish that i inquired about buying,, just pthe price, the black says to me and i quote "why you keep asking me for the price!" angrily. that is when i left. just an fyi.

Beitails fixed his reef tank the last time I was there and they looked pretty good, before he would just dump corals in the tank with some upside down and others dying. You could get great prices on corals as they mixed in rare corals with the other corals and if you didn't get it the price from the owner you could get some great deals.

Now the fish are another story, their tanks are load with diseased and dying fish. They feed them goldfish and the water quailty if horrible. Top all this off alot of their fish are way over priced. The thing is he gets alot of rare fish and some that are very large in size but your taking a big chance on his fish even if you quartine them. The fish in the reef tanks are alot better but he does move fish around so the chance of getting a fish with something is great.

Your right about the people working there not knowing anything, outside of the owner and the old guy they rest just do maintance on the tank and bag fish.

What is Fishtown coming to check out?

Go out and buy a tupperware container, depending on the size of the fish get either the 22gal or the 50gal container. Fill it with water and salt and bring it up to the correct sg. Put in either a power head or air pump or run a hang on filter on the side, also put in a rock or something so the fish has a place to hide. Make sure whatever of the items I listed above gives you have water breakage in the container, that's very important.

After that go to Coral Aquarium on Roosvelt and get a product call "Copper Power". It's a very good copper that you can use at higher levels, also pick up a copper kits while you there.
