I am seriously considering selling my absolutely pristine, show size sohal tang. It is a big, fat 10" and in perfect shape. It is a tad aggressive. It's starting to pick on my other tangs a little too much, so I'm thinking it should go.

Definitely, don't even think of asking if you don't have a 240 or bigger. I don't care if you're upgrading soon. This needs a big tank.

I run folr, so I can't comment on whether or not it's reef safe. Supposedly they are, and I've never seen it bother any inverts or small fish, only other tangs.

I'll try to get a better picture, but here's one for now.

First of all, I've heard a lot of people here suggest you're likely to get a problem buying fish from FT.

Second, around here, I see one's this size going in the $300 range.

Thirds, in trying to come up with a fair price, I usually check on line. Without shipping, you'd pay this much from either marinedepot.com or fishsupply.com (two of the more trustworthy sources) for a 4-5" specimine, sight unseen.

There isn't anything wrong with their fish you just need to check them out and quartine them, just like any place. And if a fish that size is going for $300 around where you live then I would considered shopping some where else because mine Sohal is about twice the size of your and I doubt I could get $300 for it.

The price you listed is high as you can get a similar size Sohal for $75-$100.

I've been going about 3 years, and not a spec. I feed very well, frequent feedings, and frozen is always soaked in garlic and vitamines. So far,so good. My PB is my senior citizen. Never a problem. Just the occasional scrape from his big brother sohal.

nice tang MS ,,my friend just bought me a sohal tang 1/4 that size .from the fish store it was 55 bux but i brought him back ,i dont put anymore fish i nmy tank ,its a happy tank with what i have so im keeping it that way ,.
i dont think its high priced ,,,if no one here want it ,post on craigs list ,i sold a bunch of tangs off there ,..

FishTown is very cheap in their prices, cheapier than some on-line places. Also the on-line places that are located out west have higher prices on the Red Sea fish than the east coast places but their fish from Hawaii and places closer to them are alot cheapier then around here.

you are most likly going ot get a bad fish from FT cuz they order any mix all the fish ,Medication or not ,most ppl dont QT the fish ,Most reg customer dont even know what a QT tank is or how to sart one ,what to put in ,

And if people are going to keep buying from there then you have to take into account their prices on fish. Also didn't we have this discussion awhile back about places charging alot more for fish/corals than other places.

Mike, where do you see Michael badmouthing FT?! If people rather buy from Michael than FT, let them. It seems his fish would carry a premium over FT. This is his For Sale thread, you could of PMed your concerns about the price.

fwiw, I think the 150 is a fair price for the sohal.
first the fish is in perfect health, you know it's eating, don't need to QT,
no shipping stress, no shipping cost, what more could you ask for.

the only problem is having a tank big enough to put this bad boy in.

Thats one beautiful fish looks very healthy. I would rather pay more and know what i'm getting personaly. I believe it's a fair price.
