reverese photo period is good as it stabilizes the PH at night, when things get the lowest.
i had to run my lights at the same time as the tank lightes, because my fuge was HOB and i was getting way to much light spilling into the tank

If I modded my penguin to fit a small light could I put cheato in my media bins?

yes, that's possible. More reefer use AC500 filter with mod to grow it. It has much more space.
