Well after a 3in move higher in stronger flow and the new skimmer you can see the difference in 3 weeks how the shortcake has colored up alot. cheap cell phone pics. first pic is when it was totally brown not a hint of color. looked like a pipe of dirt. second pic is the coral starting to color up

the base is totally green and the pink is really stating to show. ITS ABOUT TIME. i think it all has to do with the skimmer. my old skimmer was just to small for this tank

Did you still left it at a higher position in tank after you replaced skimmer? Glad you finally got it to color up.

Here's my SSC. Is placed high under a 250W Radium. It gets also lots of strong, random flow. This coral was an exercise in patience for me. I got a 1+ frag form Unique Corals at Macna over two years ago. It always maintained some color for me but SUPER slow growth until I moved it high up in my system and gave it more light and flow. Since then it has began to take off and now is growing at a pretty good clip. It is approximately a 5" X 4" colony. I really like this acro!!
