Just got the Tang out.. Now to try for the anthias. They seem totally fine, but I need to get them out!!!!!!! I have soda botta trap in there with some food. I am going to give a fish hook a shot.

Set up a qt tank. Leave dt fishless for at least 8 weeks, 10 would be better.

QT tank is already set up, I have had one already. I got the Tang, goby, and male anthias out.

Got the anthias out with hook on fishing line. Got him out in like 3 mins. The other 2 are shy for the hook. I will try again later.

Fish are in qt with meds as we speak! I plan on 6-8 weeks of fallow.

I did a lot of reading on this for my tank.
8 weeks is 97.5% chance of no ich.
10 weeks is 99.9% chance of no ich.

I'm at 6 weeks now, holding out for 10..

OK thanks for the input. I am having hard time getting the 2 femals anthias out. I need to get the clock running!!

They seem to be able to see the hook, but it is so small. They will pick out the shrimp that is floating around, but the one withthe hook will go right past them.. I will have to try the bottle trap. Gonna leave it in there overnight so they get used to it.

I just went down to the qt and Tang not looking too well. Maybe he was still sleeping. But not looking too good.

How long has the tang had ich? If it just got it and doin that bad, might not be ich.

Hard to tell, to progress that fast, could be velvet. Is it more like a coating? Or just spots? Also see some red on the belly. Secondary infection?

No slime whatsoever, so I don't think that is velvet. The belly part was from when he wedged himself in between rocks, I think.
